Nuno Costa is Coordinator Professor at the Department of Computer Science Engineering, at the Superior School of Technology and Management of the Leiria Polytechnic Institute, where he has been for 17 years. Recently he is teaching and is responsible for the units Systems Integration and Interoperability (taught to three different schools levels), Wireless Networks and Platforms for IoT. In the past he tought and was responsible for units related with Operating and Distributed Systems and he was coordinator of the Masters in Computer Engineering-Mobile Computing. As a professor, he is also frequently supervisor and jury member of MsC Dissertations and Projects and undergraduate course projects related with IoT, Systems Integration, Interoperable and Scallable Platforms, Wireless Communications, among others. He has a degree (2001) in Informatics and Systems Engineering from the Coimbra Institute of Engineering, a MSc (2006) in Informatics Engineering from the University of Coimbra and a PhD (2010) in Informatics from the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro. He belongs to the Computer Science and Communications Research Center of Polytechnic of Leiria since 2010. He is the author and co-author of several papers in journals and conference proceedings in IoT related areas such as Embedded Systems, Smart Farming, Smart Homes, Body Area Networks, Wireless Sensor Networks, Mobile Agents among others. He has also activity in reviewing articles for journals and Conferences such as Journals of Sensors, Electronics and Technologies (Hindawi), Sustainability (MDPI), and Journal of Ambient Intelligence and Smart Environment. Before dedicating to teaching, he was employee at tech companies and integrated the research staff of Laboratory for Automation and Systems of the Pedro Nunes Institute (Coimbra).
