DIG-indústria
-Synopsis
DIG-Indústria is a 24-month initiative led by the Portuguese Industrial Association (AIP) and the Polytechnic of Leiria (IPL) to accelerate the digital transition of at least 50 industrial SMEs in Portugal through a practical, shopfloor-driven approach. Starting with rigorous digital maturity assessments and sector-specific needs analysis, the project designs and deploys tailored transformation pilots in each company, leveraging technologies such as the Internet of Things, data analytics, automation, digital twins, cloud computing, and augmented reality. In parallel, it strengthens digital literacy through immersive on-site training and introduces metrics to measure the energy, environmental, and economic impact of industrial digitalisation—boosting productivity, competitiveness, and supply-chain integration. The outcomes and lessons learned will be consolidated into a Shopfloor Digitalisation Best Practices Guide and a supporting platform/app, including case studies and actionable recommendations that other SMEs can reuse to adopt digital and sustainable manufacturing.
